This is a oil painting of some French Alps. I painted the foreground by splattering paint onto the canvas in many layers to give it the feel of sprouting grass. The clouds are blocked in with thick white brush strokes.
I am going to take a road trip across the United States very soon and photograph the varied and spectacular views. When I arrive in California I will create many more of these large scale painterly expanses.
